Quint,

He should have gone back as a Temp and purposely screwed up everything he could.

They offered to hire him as a temp to train the new guy on how to do the job! Amazing.

My sister tried that-full-time work while going to college full time.

Miraculously, she managed to not hit anything more solid than a speed limit sign when she fell asleep at the wheel after two months of 3-4 hours of sleep a night. 2' to the side, she'd be dead.

Then they all complain because the government does the same thing. They don't realize the government has the advantage of owning the printing presses. This is a bit old, ($14 Trillion National Debt), but it still applies rather well.

Im reading some of the posts in here and amazed at the replies.

Hey dummys! If you borrow money you have to pay it back.

Its some of the students, parents and way they were schooled fault for those who whine and cry when the money they borrow comes due to pay back!

Geez, already, wake up, stop expecting money from my paycheck to fix your stupid decisions!

Like hello again, college costs only going up, because the government got in the student loan business and allows anyone to borrow any amount of money, no questions asked!
Dumb, dumb, dumb, bottom line, if you borrow money pay it back. Stop leaning on government and my paycheck to bail you out of your lifes dumb decisions.
Even more so if you cant see your college is draining your future earnings because they got the government to lend the stupid people all the money they want.

Colleges living fat and healthy, young people and dummy parents are feeding it.

Just say no!
I can see by the stupid press the way things are going, start getting the general population concerned about student loan debt, make the general population feel sorry for those poor stupid students who took out massive loans for nothing, then some day, one day, it will be called a bailout and the bailout will once again come from your paycheck.

(so ends todays sermon) :o)

PS, the only reason college costs are out of control are because STUPID people are paying it with borrowed money for all!
Like hello!?!?
If the borrowed money wasnt so freely available and the students didnt borrow that money like rats around a dead cat, college costs would come down DRAMATICALLY or they would have no students.

Most Colleges are nothing more then massive government type operations now, flush with money, overflowing with money, its all about the money and their fat paychecks for the staff, fancy buildings, student are the dumb servants borrowing massive amounts of future earnings and freely giving it over to them.

Debt is a symptom that comes from over spending. It's not the actual problem.

I agree Bill...but if they owned the printing presses they could inflate the overspending away.

Someone else owns the presses, they pay interest (as per your example home budget).

Given that post 2008, ALL of our countries owe more money than ever...who do we owe it to ?

Each other ?

Education has become more prevalent and for many jobs the education requirements have simply increased.

In Toronto almost 50% of the working population have at least a Bachelor's degree. Nobody is going to hire you just because you have a degree, because there is a 100 other people who applied who also have one.

A world where you get hired based on your degree is not one I currently live in.

They can't print that much at one time. It would make the currency worthless. Just like when Germany and Zimbabwe tried it. If they balanced the budget, they could conceivably print their way out of it carefully over time. Inflation will take place regardless. That's a benefit to the government, just as it is to anyone else who owes money on a home mortgage, or any other long term loan debt. The whole idea is that you're paying it back with inflated money that's worth less... Not worthless.

Think of inflation the same as alcohol, sex, and drugs. Just because a little is good, it doesn't mean more is better. Most people have no idea how much $20 TRILLION dollars in cash actually is. This is a visual aid as to what $20 TRILLION dollars looks like in $100 dollar bills. It's an inconceivable amount.

People need to quit going for degrees. They are a waste of money, and they aren't teaching anything that is useful in the job market. All they're doing is indoctrinating these kids. They should be going to trade schools...

I'm glad I'm not one of "those" I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
