Decided to replace the PCV valve on my Grand Caravan (3.8). What should have been a five minute job turned into a headache. The PCV will turn in the housing, but will not pull out. There is little to no leverage. To top it all off, the end of the valve chewed off. It sits in a housing and is hard to get to. Had to be to work so I just put the hose back over the PCV. Any suggestions on getting it out (special tools?)?

i don't have an answer but recommend perseverence. I looked for the pcv valve on my dad's 5.0L V8 ford for years before i finally figured out where it was- all the way in back out of sight and almost impossible to reach. i had to disconnect items in order to reach it. cut myself up pretty bad too.

good luck

I'm guessing it's stuck in the rubber grommet? I've had that same problem on a Chrysler mini van. The grommet was hard as a rock. I took a torch and heated it (grommet) till it started to melt then got on the valve with pliers and pulled it out. Needless to say, you'll also need a grommet.
