Struts -- are there any good ones?

It does have a lifetime warranty but I'm afraid it's lifetime replacement, not refund. I guess we'll find out.

My struts look like they should have a ty wrap or clamp holding the boot in place. But there's nothing included in the box. Should I clamp this somehow?

Typically no for road going passenger vehicles. Some bellow boots on off-road shocks such as Ranchos and Bilsteins for truck applications are clamped with ty-wraps to prevent contamination when mudding or fording streams.

Is that with the strut loaded/compressed? If so, then yes, you should add a clamp or ziptie.

There's usually a rubber or foam bumper on the rod up by the top mount. The boot should stretch over that. Do you have a pic of the parts breakdown?

If that picture is with the vehicle loaded on its wheels, I think that's normal
Here's me building up the strut on my Camry with factory Toyota parts (rear)
On the fronts, the gaitor/boot is sold separately, sandwiched between the mount and bearing plate
They're usually destroyed, because no one wants to spend $30 on a piece of rubber

There's different theories. If anything can get in there, then it can't get out if sealed at the bottom. I prefer them open at the bottom as shown. I also don't like onions and prefer blondes. YMMV
