Do my car's struts need to be replaced?

to be honest, I bought them because I found a good deal on them. I do look for cheap parts all the time on ebay, clearances, car part-outs, etc. I think I paid $20 for the pair about a year ago and then just recently found a good deal on the struts.

The old mounts were in pretty bad shape. The rubber had cracks and they made some nice creaking noises in the cold.

I'd love to see a set of Moog strut mounts compared to a variety of other ones.

Everything else Moog makes seems to be an improvement on OE.

My Saturn OE front strut mounts had plastic bearings, and those were the point of failure. The only aftermarket replacement I could find was from Monroe, and they were identical. I would have liked to have seen premium metal bearings.
