2000 Dodge Dakota--SO the wife calls and says the remote keyless entry is not working, pulls fuse and replaces, works once, then blows the fuse--okay possible short and power locks do not work period, everything else appears okay. Now two days latter and she goes to clean the windshield, the pump works and squirts fluid, but the wipers do not come on. She turns them on manually and finds the delay/intermittent function is not working, but they work on set low & high speeds. Any ideas out there??? Thanks in advance.

Check for open grounds. In fact, make some temp grounds for the mountings and ground sides of devices to known good grounds. Ground the neg side of the battery to the chassis in more than one place. You need to be sure you have a good grounds before looking at the rest of the problems. Bad ground stop things from working but that not the worst of it. Open ground fool the volatage regulator and tell it to give more current which can cause devices to fail and eventually the battery and alternator will cook. Look around and make use of a test light. Also check voltage drop across devices. Only check or disconnect one thing at a time. Take your time. You might want to add some extra permenant grounds. Your electrical system will like that.

lobo11, is there an aftermarket remote start or alarm system installed? A co-worker has a 1999 or 2000 with a similar issue. He does have AM stuff installed AFAIK.

Let me get this right, Lobo... your WIFE pulled a fuse? And reinstalled it?? Seems unlikely.

Surely this is a mis-type. Do you mean that your wife made YOU pull the fuse?

Yeah, she pulled it and reinstalled. We had a fuse go on the cigarette lighter and she was complaining she couldn't use her phone charger, so I showed her the fuse pannel diagram and the extra fuses. It was the first thing she thought of. Oh, in addition now the dome light does not operate when you open the door, nor does it ding telling you you have left your keys in the ignition.
