Passed flashlight test. What you see is light passing through the bypass valve media.

Made sometime in 2018, so pretty old. Where did you buy this filter from?

In my observation of endcap integral bypass valves, unless some odd manufacturing defect/error, all should pass a flashlight test. This one no exception. Probably PGI made, or similar manufacturing plant. Now if this had been a Champ Labs made XL, the 'seal area' flashlight test result could well be different. Based on past c&p, as expected topic looks good.

Funny to see old STP slogan. When topic has come up before, some associated STP with Richard Petty. For me though it's always been CEO Andy Granatelli.

Thanks for c&p.

The Racer's Edge

Andy's most famous creation, the Indy Turbine Car. I was at Indy for this race ('68 I think). The turbine car made only a whisper as it circulated around the track. Art Pollard driving and leading when a fuel pump quit allowing Bobby Unser to win the race. They used chalk boards back then to communicate with the drivers as they passed the pits. Unser's pit crew wrote 'Andy's out' to tell Unser he was in the lead.

Quite a memory.

I was there in ‘68, ‘69, and ‘70. The turbine car was very fast and boring.

Since this thread is about a filter C&P, I won't hijack it. by saying I was there at Indy in '77 when Janet Guthrie was the first woman to race at Indy.
