STP Oil Filters

I think they're good. They're Champion Labs made, so most of the GM ones are E-Core, while the others for foreign cars are more traditional with a metal center tube and a spring loaded bypass valve.

Depends for what application specifically. I've read reports of problems with their cartridge-style filters on BMWs for example. The rubber gasket (o-ring) that comes with these STP filters seems to be too thin and results in oil leaks from the filter housing.

Good filter for 5k OCI's same as the cheaper ST 2.50 filter at wally world, and almost identical to the acdelco.

I used them once when we had our '98 BMW 528i. Not as impressed as I was with Mann, and Mann's were cheaper for that car. No leaks, bit less pleats and not as well constructed. Autozone lists STP filter for $10.95. At this price we enter into the Fram debate where they are ok, but overpriced. I was buying the Mann's for $5 online, and gettingthem shipped in when I would do air filter, cabin filters etc...

In the past, they were about the same as similar priced filters. I am waiting to see if the S3950 on my truck now has been cheapened like the L10193 has.
