For a beater I was trying to keep for a little longer before disposal, I'd give it a shot. That's if I couldn't get a hold of LM Motor Oil Saver.

I used this stuff once and the leak went away:

haha! that was part of the CARS gov't program right? Sodium silicate is a cheap and easy way to make sure the car is off the road forever.

If you're going to put any kind of stop leak in anything, I'd use this. It does work if the issue is lip seal or o-ring related and the seal isn't physically damaged.

Why don't you just use high mileage oil? You're going to put gunk into your engine and you were talking about using Castrol 0W-40 in a 20 year old truck?
