Is he going to add all three bottles at once? Then he might have a 20w60 or some other horribly thick mess.
They were selling that stuff at BigLots. The stuff is SO think, I couldn't coax a HINT of a slosh in the bottle no matter how hard I shook the bottle. How the he11 would you pour it outta the bottle? That stuff is no-go. VSOT is too thick, too, but at least we add only a little. STP wants you to do the whole bottle. Dunno HOW you'd get it out of the bottle.
Needless to say, I deferred to the SLOB. $1.59 each, scored 6 bottles. Should go good with my Havoline.
And I was the one that swore off the additives last week till someone in the know mentioned the zinc is still a good thing, lots of Moly or not.

toocrazy2yoo: I think you are okay with zddp additives, but when dealing with thick stuff it better have good VIIs.
As for STP the red bottle (4-cylinder) stuff is a lot thinner than the blue bottle. More like VSOT IIRC.

Yep, VSOT is thick, but I would expect it has a quality VII. Store the VSOT in a warm place for a while (a sunlit window) to warm it before use (or in winter set it by the heat register).
Donate them (STP) and take the tax deduction.

VSOT ain't no thin drink of water either. When I use VSOT, I use Mobil 1 0w20 (Havoline, the only Dino I'm ever gonna run, doesn't need the Moly contained in VSOT), I heat the bottle of VSOT in boiling water and mix it with the oil before I pour it in. 1.5 oz./Qt.
