Anybody have any idea of how much ZDDP is in a bottle of STP. I have not seen any used oil analysis or VOA with the popular STP additive to guess how much it would raise the zinc ppm levels. I did a search and could not find a single OA.

Could somebody doing a used oil analysis in the near future pretty please throw in a bottle (or even half). I promise it won't burn out your O2 sensor if you have it in there for the just the last 2000 miles.

I assume you're talking about their various "oil treatment" products. They appear to have from 1-3% zinc-related compounds added. Here's a few MSDSs on this stuff. I didn't take a good look at the MSDSs below, but have always assumed this stuff was primarily an oil thickener, and nothing much but that...so why not just use a thicker weight oil to begin with is what I've always thought...

Years ago when I was an air cooled VW nut I used STP in my transaxles, worked good in summer or winter as it didn't thicken up when cold as bad as gear lube did. It also ran quieter.
