Storing new brake discs long term?

I wouldn’t oil them - hit them with some zinc primer, which is how Mercedes and Zimmerman coat their discs for shipping.

Zero chance of contamination problems.

I just pulled out a set of 3 yr old ebc (coated) rotors and they were fine just being stored in their box in the shed. Uncoated is probably a different outcome.

There is really only one oil designed for this kind of thing. It may be hard to find, but well worth the effort and price, and the peace of mind of course.

Alternatively you can buy two VCI bags and store each of them uncoated. All of the OE rotors I bought recently come in those now instead of coating.
