The link you showed earlier, that shows the shipping option shows it as "Out of Stock". I searched the local Walmarts (the "Pickup" option), and only one showed it in stock. Wonder if you get that price if you buy 3 at one time in-store?

Just curious. Other than marketing, can someone chime in on why Valvoline seems to be all the rage? I've looked at the lab results for 5W30 and 0W20 and see similar TBN, Zinc, Phosphorus, Molybdenum and detergent numbers as others at lower prices. I've run Quaker State conventional, then synthetic blend and full synthetic on all of our cars for over 35 years and have racked up over 420k on a few with zero issues and ultra clean heads when doing the occasional valve cover gasket. I'm really not brand biased and go more by the lowest price with API approval and by the lab analysis results of the TBN and additive package. Valvoline was always higher priced but if it is a genuinely better product, I'd like to know.

There are many threads on Valvoline Restore and Protect. It's the rage because it will cure engines that burn oil due to gummed up and stuck oil control rings ... it's worked well for many members here. And also keeps engines from getting piston ring deposits in the first place. Also cleans up deposits throughout the engine ... many here see drastic differences in valve train deposits after running Valvoline Restore and Protect for awhile.
Even though an engine might look super clean in the valve train, it could still suffer from ring deposits. If your engine isn't burning any oil, then the oil control rings are probably pretty clean, at least clean enough to make them work properly. Here's an example of an engine that was like new clean inside, bu the rings were stuck. Go to the middle of the video and see how clean that engine is.

ETA: @ZeeOSix always beats me to the punch.
If your engine is an oil burning toiletty mess, Valvoline Restore and Protect will clean it up.
Lots of documented cases on here and elsewhere.
It's the 2000 Flushes of engine oil.

My post was about walking into the store and buying oil. But you make a great point.. I never set foot in Costco, gas is different and you're not actually in the store, and Amazon isn't a store, so. Side note, Amazon also still has the free shipping on over $35, which is pretty easy to hit if stocking up on oil. Again, I built up my stash of cheap motor oil to somewhere around 14 jugs in May. No idea how large my stash should be.
And I actually have shopped online at Walmart. They assumed a Pack of 3 was actually a pack of one, and it was a whole big hassle with Customer Service. So I'd disagree about which one would have been canceled...
I suppose because I've never seen any test results on old unused oil.

You’ve never seen a VOA (Virgin Oil Analysis)? There’s tons of them available on this forum, it’s pretty interesting to see the baseline before being used in an engine for the specific oil of interest.
That's an issue with demand. Demand went way up for domestic use. Probably went down for commercial use. Supply was fine. Was just mismatched to demand. I was just contrasting that with our current situation with oil. We don't have the physical base oils (or won't soon) to make more motor oil. It would be like if the great TP crisis of 2020 came from a lack of trees or something.
Anyway, it is not like it matters one way or the other. Just was clarifying my earlier comments.
