Stocking Up On Motor Oil

Debating on buying any more while we’re still at ā€œfirst stageā€ price hikes šŸ¤”
Depending on your choice of oil, there are still some places that haven't raised the prices (yet) and some sales. I think others have mentioned Castrol(Amazon/Walmart), Menards (quaker state), and Meijer VRP sale.
In full disclosure l picked up 2-5 quart jugs of VRP today for $28.99 each. I was already stocked for the next 3 years

About a year ago I bought enough to last a couple years because I was tired of always having to buy it when needed so I wasn’t planning to get any for another year but I picked up another 30 quarts over the last couple days to make sure I can hopefully see this through. Have 2-3 years worth now of both oil and filters so I don’t need to think about it anymore.

I've only got a 4-year supply stashed away, which is double my usual stash--the Iran thing made me a mite nervous. Anything more than this and storage space will become an issue. My wife already thinks I'm an oil hoarder. She has no idea what a real oil hoarder would keep on hand:)

I wish I could stash a 4-year supply of gasoline you find a practical way .
If you find a way to do this... Please share!

Saw the increase in motor oil prices and picked up two 20 quart boxes of valvoline restore and protect 0w-20 for $117. Thought everyone should know since Walmart currently has it at the same price before the increase except for the 5 quart jug. Wondering if anyone else stocked up too?

I bought 3 20 quart jugs of 5w30 and a 20 quart of 0w30 euro for my daughters Camry. Had enough for 3 changes on the Camry and 4 5 quart jugs of 5w30 but was getting low. I generally keep stocked up and been stocking up more because I could see this coming. I took advantage of Blains fleet and farm rebates on 36 quarts of mystic sea and snow, and also a couple 5 gallon pails of Mystic JT 8 15w50 for a smokin good deal. I run 5w40 in my truck and am stocked up with 16 jugs of Quaker State Euro that I got on sale before the price shot up. Also picked up 6 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 0w40 that I run in my yard equipment and generators. Between that and the oils I previously stocked up on like Valvoline VR1 20w50 for one of my motorcycles and various gear oils ATF and hydraulic oils, plus a bunch random 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10w30 and 5w30 and gallons of Mobil Delvac for my diesel equipment I should be good for many years. I probably have 50 5 quart and gallon jugs of oil and 8 or 10 5 gallon pails/boxes of oil not counting ATF and gear oils.
I also bought several cases Pentius ufxl oil filters when the prices dipped low on amazon. I really never intended to hoard oil, but buying during sales and price dips saves a lot of money and I hate not having stuff when I need it. With the increased prices coming it will save me a ton of money. I do rotate my stock to be sure to use the oldest first, but do not have any problem using 4 or 5 year old oil.It sounds like a lot but between 4 vehicles and yard equipment, generator, pressure washer, 4 wheeler, several motorcycles, a side by side, tractor and mini excavator it goes pretty fast. If I had less vehicles and stuff to maintain it would be easier to swallow the price increases.

Just went to Walmart and yup they raised prices on everything except Valvoline heavy duty diesel which is still cheap and some Castrol variants are priced between 23 and 25. So I got some Valvoline 15w-40. It was cheap at 11.6c an oz. Supertech diesel and all mileage is 14c an oz now
