I have a partial quart of the synthetic Super Tech 5w30 remaining from a March OC in my snow blower. It is in the clear container, and has a big ball of wax floating in it. Did not like that, and don't think I will be using it for the future. Now it has been stored in my shed since opened, however, if exposure to temperature or air caused this, it will certainly do this inside an engine as well. Dumped it out of all of my OPE and replaced it with AMSOIL Signature Series 0w30.
still think supertech is bad?

man im no expert but i think all that syn stuff is made from wax lol.
old timers say it turns into wax in your motor, i guess it took time to get it right lol

Worse than Pennzoil conventional? I put some in my car, removed the valve cover after 3000 miles and their was Jello on top of the engine.

Quaker State is an awesome oil. Never had ANY issues. ALWAYS clean engines.

I am going to start using the Super Tech synthetic. Most is WPP's Mag1 and I always thought it might be good oil, from the Mag1 websites buildup of it. This testimony somewhat proves my hunch. The 10-30 sounds perfect for one car we have, a Chrysler T&C van with 210000 on the clock, 3.8 engine.
I do use the Mopar filter though, only a couple bucks more than the Super Tech e-core clone. Has base end bypass, solid construction, very similar to Motorcraft.

i cant speak for the synthetics but Quaker and pens are pretty much the same in my book. why buy them when gtx and Valvoline are the same price
How much make up oil with those OCI's? My experience with the Mopar 3.3/3.8 is that they consume more oil than most engines.
As far as Super Tech--it's good to see that someone actually went the distance exclusively with it to show that it really doesn't matter what brand you go with. The differences are minor with today's major brands. JCTFOA (just change the ..oil already) and we'll all be good to go.

Yes both Quaker State and Pennzoil are made by the same company SOPUS (shell oil products us)
Do a little search, for years on this forum Pennzoil Platinum has been the darling, largely due its cheaper price versus Mobil 1 and good results. Now it seems Pennzoil Ultra is getting the most attention.

i have zero oil consumption or if there is its minimal on a oci. 3.3s are solid motors. also spent alot of time pulling a enclosed trailer on our trips forgot to mention that. still running strong i will put 400k more miles if i can maybe dodge will give me a new van :]
I can't think of too much more people can say to negate the fact that Super Tech synthetic is a good oil proven by this long use, hard stress test. Not Mobil 1, not PP, not GC, but only Super Tech Synthetic is proven here. One thing being said is all oil would have done the same thing. If that were true there would be no reason for anyone to have a BITOG site to argue about it ad nauseum. Does it say WPP on the bottle bottom is my question.
