Not too bad for 26 years old, still shines after a good wash and wax. Had this van for a long time and still enjoy driving it daily.
Just turned 117,000 miles which averages about 4,600 miles a year. Oil and filter changed about 5-6K miles.

Griots Garage seems to do the job.

Looks great! GM paint was not known for its quality back in those days...
Love the whitewalls. I want some for out '65 4-4-2 but not sure where to get them.

Nice; i remember a poster on here finally getting rid of his 30+ year old caravan; i don't go thru vehicles nearly as frequently as most BITOG'rs but at some point I imagine it is close to becoming a member of the family

Used to see those Astro vans everywhere; a neighbour had one for years, a couple of coworkers had them, etc. To see one like yours in nice shape is rare now.

Good looking Astro! That generation is extinct from my area; they all completely rotted away. See a few late 90's, early 00's around, but nothing older than that.

It’s also that DuPont lacquer GM favored as well - and full of heavy metals like lead, nickel, barium and chromium. But you also took care of your can and that goes a long way.

years ago, Euro guys shunned DuPont and PPG paint, mostly because of the 1st gen waterborne primer introduced by the Detroit 3 in the 1990s that had color coat adhesion issues. Ironically, PPG bought out ICI Autocolor, and DuPont gobbled up Standox and Spies Hecker.

I think it looks darn good. (y) ;)
But, taking pics from afar will get you in trouble around here. I posted pics of my 07 F150 and stated that the paint still looked good for an almost 14 year old truck. I started getting hammered, stating that anything will look good from a distance. Some even posted pics of vehicles near and far, stating I should show my truck pics up close to see the swirl marks.

Man that’s a nice van I’m not a Chevy guy at all but man that’s nice. I wanted one of these but couldn’t find one when I was shopping for my first car. I especially like the white wall tires that definitely fits the 90s lol I have white walls on all my cars.
