Hey there crew
smile.gif

I just bough a 2007 Holden Rodeo 3.6 V6, 5 speed ...*177,000* kms

1st and 2nd gear are very hard to select

but once the gearbox warms up it selects fine ..
I'm thinking the gearbox oil has never been changed from factory
The owners manual specs (SAE 75W-90 GL3)

There is so many different oils available and Ive read so many different things !!

What do you experts think ?

Cheers

Is it rods or cables? If the linkages move freely and bushes all look good, and/or you measure the cables to prove theyre not stretched then it's most likely inside the box.

Afaik, gl4 can be used where gl3 is spec'd so you're probably best off with either Redline MT90 or Castrol Syntrans.

Redline was a bit hard to get my hands on...... and i was impatient...lol

I tried some Penrite Geartrans 75W-90. It seems to have cleaned up the stiff shifting ....defiantly an improvement
