It's gonna be a far better performing engine. The problems will come years down the road most likely. Depends if you want to enjoy it now or keep it forever.

Yeah, they did a number with that one didn't they. Sold like hot cakes, no one dared complaining, traditional AMG clients were so happy, I heard they opened a petition for the next AMG engine to be a 3 cylinder because four is too much. There's actually a whole dedicated department at MB to sift through the orders of previous gen AMGs to be engine-swapped to the 4 cyl. THAT'S how much clients loved it
I think Brake Mean Effective Pressure is a better way to compare engines.

So while the new Hurricane 4 doesn't have the highest BMEP, it is definitely sitting towards the top of the as far as production engines go.

Once again I realize how much of a snob I am, consciously or not.
As much as I don't bat an eyelid at the idea of buying a Civic Type R and keeping it for 20 years or a bazillion miles, that much I wouldn't be seen in a Stellantis product with this here engine a day past the warranty's expiration. Yet they sound quite similar.

That’s some wishful thinking on a brand new engine. My neighbor across the street has a Grand Wagoneer with the Hurricane I6 and I’ve only seen this vehicle few times months ago, it’s been at the dealer for some sort of misfire or hesitation and the cannot fix it. Meanwhile he’s been driving Rams, Jeeps and Chrysler minivans as loaners.

Yes! That and cast iron cylinder sleeves would be nice.
It probably even has spark plugs, pistons, and a crankshaft. That's 140 year old technology! Freaking Stellantis, I swear, will they ever stop the deceit.
What is the displacement? I did not see that anywhere in the first bunch of posts.

I don’t get the silly name. I’m sure Hurricane isn’t very popular in Jamaica right now.
Ironically, Honda dropped the Hurricane moniker on it's early CBR bikes for the same reason. They never sold well anywhere one had hit. Loved the TV ads though, where it went up against the Kawasaki Ninja and the storm forced the Ninja character to take cover from the wind. I had both a 600 and 1000 Hurricanes.
