Stellanis is Trying 2026 Jeep Cherokee

It appears Jeep has a potentially competitive offering in the hottest segment compact SUV with the 2026 Jeep Cherokee. Absolute miss by Jeep forever.
So It's good?

So It's bad?

I'm confused.

Based on the STLA large platform, same as the new Charger and Wagoneer S, I'd say that's an improvement. Will have to see how/if people like it though. I like the Wagoneer S.

I’ll watch the rest of video when I get time, but by the looks it’s basically just a Jeep Compass? What’s the point?

And $37k to start for the base model!? I wonder if it even gets a true low-range. I know the cheap little Jeeps don’t in the base models.

Pricing is like $5k too high. What are they thinking? Base should be $29,995 and go up from there.

  • Cherokee (Base): $36,995 (including $1,995 destination)
  • Laredo: $39,995
  • Limited: $42,495
  • Overland: $45,995
The base is AWD and a hybrid, and its RAV4 sized. An AWD hybrid Corolla Cross is $30k, and IMO they should chase some quality parts in a quest to get more reliability/brand reputation. I guess they can always lower the price if they aren't selling.

Wow, some logic for a change. Thank you.

Sorry was not clear. Jeep / Stellanis never offered a Compact SUV that sold well when Compact SUV became the hottest segment of auto market.

This might appeal not sure. It checks the MPG box and looks okay .

Yeah, it's not going to go BOF, it's going to be more like a junior JGC, which, based on the success of other marques in the segment, is what's desired. BTW, the 5.7L JGC's have 4-low, but the SRT's don't, lol. I have variable power splitting, and 1st gear is pretty low (4.7:1) as are the pots (3.7:1) and it'll pull the **** out of the world if I put a trailer behind it, but I assume they didn't think anyone was going to use 4-low on the "race" oriented offerings, so it wasn't available.

It will go on the lot @ 25% off MSRP at intro so that should help.

Looks so much better that the last Cherokee but Jeep should forget the pics of it in the dirt. That only happens when the Nav is wrong.

The most competitive market segment. In 2019 I looked at everything. Jeep - Compass and Cherokee were small and cheap feeling. They weren't the only ones. It was clear then why Toyota and Honda lead year after year.

I feel like the leaders in the category benefit from using the same platform as many other of their higher run vehicles, so they can invest the necessary money to do things right. Possibly basing new Cherokee off a new broad global platform helps with this.

I'll let someone else try the new platform / new engine in its first year :ROFLMAO:

I don’t hate it; not a bad update.
Disappointed it is so much $$, and no power train options.
They really need to compete with the Trax - have a base one with 2WD and the old 2.4 priced around $24-$25k to steal Trax sales.
From there, go to hybrid, and then have a Trailhawk with the 2.0 turbo, more height and bigger tires.
