Starter issue?

Hey all, I recently replaced (6 months ago) my starter with a reman Ac Delco. At the time I didn't have enough cash for the Denso reman and I needed to get the car on the road asap.

This problem happened 3 times in the span of 5 weeks, recent one is today. There would be a no start problem. I turn the key and nothing. No clicks from the starter. But I try again right after it will start and run. I get no codes, no funny idling.

With the old starter, it would at least click. But these 3 times it didn't start, there is no clicking noise.

Is there something I should inspect/test before trying to warranty the starter with rockauto? Could it be a ground, something to do with the key/ignition?

Edit: vehicle is a 2005 CRV awd.

Ah yes I cleaned the battery connections after I installed the starter. I used a battery post cleaner. Maybe I should do it again?

Be nice to know if the solenoid's getting power when it's not working.
That happened to my old 1998 CRV last month. Car started fine in the morning. In the afternoon, starter no workie. Dash lights ok, but not even a solenoid click when I try to crank. Underdash fuses are OK, and so is the start relay in the box beside the battery. Turns out the rubber protective sleeve on the end of the wire that goes into the starter solenoid had crumbled, and the wire connector had slowly backed off till it was no longer attached to the electrical tang on the solenoid. Couldn't see it bec of the deep location. Found it by feel. Ran my fingers on the rubber sleeve till all brittle parts had been removed, crimped the spade connector slightly with pliers, pushed it back onto the tang, and it was fixed. This was all by feel, I couldn't see the spade connector to the solenoid.

I once owned a '74 Chevelle with 350. Was having starting issues similar to yours. I replaced 2 starters and was about to do a third one in only a few months. This time I was angry and forgot to disconnect the battery. Good that that happened. While removing the starter wires I had a wire arc to the exhaust. Found out that this wire had melted against the exhaust manifold. I repaired the wire and all was well after that. So check your wiring you might just find something similar to what I had. Just an idea

Yes same with the 2nd gen CRV, the starter is under the intake manifold. I'll have to run on hands and feel. But I'm pretty certain that connection didn't have an issue visually when I put the starter in. But I will still check! Thank you!
