Camry V6 automatic primarily driven in short trip city driving.
I remember when my other car (corolla) had the starter bushing worn out, it click, click, and click only once each time when I try starting the engine. On this camry it squeak until the engine start cranking, and it will start immediately. I think it is the starter solenoid slipping, am I right?
BTW, can anyone explain how that starter solenoid interact with the starter? Is it spring loaded and only engage the starter when it is trying to start the engine? Is it a separate piece from the starter or do you need to rebuild them at the same time?
I am thinking about a reman one instead of new, but with all the brand of choices which one is better (if within $30 difference)? Or is starter such a low tech device that even a rabbit can reman it correctly?
