TomThumb will change once they realize they lost millions in $ales due to not accepting EBT cards. EBT = cold hard cash.
God I hope they don't! It's soooooooo pleasant shopping at Tom Thumb. No hood rats walking around,no trash loitering,no one buying groceries with *my* money. I hope and pray Tom Thumb keeps on keeping on,catering to *normal* people and keeping the trash out. Those stores are so clean you could eat off the floor!
Also, not accepting EBT trash probably keeps theft down, and I bet their theft profit loss is next to zero.
It's the same concept as neighborhoods that do not accept HUD,it keeps the trash out and the crime nonexistent.
Actually REAL customers (the kind that pay with their own hard earned cash) will go out of their way to patronize stores that keep the trash out, so their shopping experience is very nice. So they may lose the EBT and shoplifting crowd, but they will gain more than that in more valuable customers.
In my case you are 100% correct. My girlfriend and I will often drive many miles to avoid shopping with fellow customers that make our skin crawl.
Just the other day I had to make a quick stop at a local Fred Meyer grocery store before work. I try to avoid the place...but I didn't have the time to drive elsewhere.
Anyway....as I was walking in I saw these three low-life ghetto girls in front of me. They calmly just reached down and shoplifted some apples right off the produce counter as they walked out! I glared at them and put my hands out (palms up) as though I was saying..."ARE YOU SERIOUS?". They just kept walking right out of the store with the stolen apples. I told the clerk....who didn't want to confront them.
These skanks all had expensive cellphones and decent (ghetto) clothes....so they weren't poor or homeless.
Makes me sick....so yes, I try to shop where I don't see this sort of vile behavior.
