I saw this product at Walmart...the 8 oz. bottle for $10.48 claims to treat 80 gallons of fuel (1 oz. per 10 gallons of gasoline). It is marketed as a 'Marine Motor Treatment' but should do the same in automotive engines. It claims to contain PEA and enzymes and gets many positive reviews.
Has anybody ever used this and if so what was your thoughts on it?

I have never used this product nor heard of it here.
1) My baseless thoughts are that it's likely snake oil and even if not harmful, it'll be weak or worthless.
2) Other companies produce highly regarded treatments with published ingredients. Without knowledge, I bet this is inferior.
3) That special batches of an extra cheap product can be manufactured for the nation's largest retailer is another thought.

startron is a well known fuel additive. Might be legit.
although at a treat rate of 1oz per 10gallons I wouldn't expect much cleaning.

That is very similar to Yamaha Ring Free which was developed by Chevron for Yamaha. Star-Tron and Star-Brite are well known similar items sold at West Marine and on internet sites. Either is especially used by folks with 4 stroke outboards who are using gasoline containing ethanol. Will it help clean the rings in your car motor? Probably somewhat and won't hurt.

I would think I'd use more than an ounce per 10 gallons of gas. I'd probably use half the bottle for 2 consecutive oil changes on my 15 gallon gas tank....then do an oil change. It contains PEA so it shouldn't be 'snake oil'.

I have not used StarRon ring clean. I do use their fuel system cleaner. It was recommended to me from a by a Small Engine Repair shop that also rents equipment. They said they use it to prevent the negative effects of ethanol. They don’t sell the product but they solely recommended it to me. Since I’ve been using it, I have not had any issues with any small engines including a chainsaw, string trimmer, log splitter, and a couple larger engines being used in a generator and an ATV. If it doesn’t work and I’m just lucky. I’ll take that and run with it but as I said, I haven’t had any issues since I’ve been using it.

I have seen it on the shelf in a former Lowes hardware store (now called Rona) in Ontario . It does not sell. This doesn't stop me from wanting to try it though. I've used other various Star Brite products without complaint.

I've been using this sparingly for a couple years now, & keep a bottle in my trunk. Cheaper than Yamalube. If you search bitog for Star tron, you'll see a couple posts pop up from me. If I remember to, I'll throw 2 oz into the tank with a fill up once a month. Hasn't seemed to hurt anything. On my civics old motor, I threw a bottle into the tank to see if it would help with the massive oil burning problem. I was scoping my cylinder heads regularly then, & it sure cleaned up the tops of the pistons after that tank, but didn't help the problem. After seeing what a bottle did, I've kept one in my vehicles. Only now it's used occasionally as directed.
