Stainless clutch line?

I noticed that my clutch line has a small leak in it. I'm not sure if anyone local even carries one, so if I have to order online I was thinking of getting a stainless one (only ~$5 more).

Anyone use a stainless clutch line and notice an improvement? Is it not worth it?

IF the stainless line is seemless and has been heat treated it will make a difference. The problem is that I doubt that you will notice the difference on the cluth side of things. One brakes useing a seemless heat treated SS line makes a huge difference in pedal fell and force transmission. THe cheap seamed tubeing most OEM's use will flex and ballon under force and that means that not all of your force is being applied to the end of the hydralic circuit. It can makes brakes feel vage and mushy!

OEMs do not use seamed tubing, but use what is called bundy tubing. It's basically spiral wound (like an empty paper towel tube) steel with braze filler. This technology has been around as far as I can remember.

Sorry if I wasn't specific enough - I'd be replacing the rubber clutch line with a stainless one. The other OEM metal lines will remain.

a leaky hose? I doubt if the perssure is high enough or the application warrants it. but also just cause it is a stainless line dosen't mean the specs are improved.

If you need a flex line, don't use the stainless.
Repetitious movement of the engine/transmission will break it.
That's why rubber is used.

Well, I'll find out once I get it and install it - I went and ordered the stainless line for ~$4 more than a rubber one from rockauto.
