A couple weeks ago AC worked for 5-10 minutes then would blow warm. Would repeat the process every time you shut it off, got gas, ran into store, etc. I took the clutch off and removed one shim as the air gap was over 0.8mm. Worked great the last two weeks! Until today again. It was being intermittent again so with it off I swapped relays under the hood. Worked when I drove it around. Got a new relay from AutoZone as they were the only one open and/or had one in stock on their website. Blew cold the entire 20 minute drive home.
If it continues, what's next? Pressure check again? Check the plug is getting 12v when it dies to know if it's something in the dash or the coil/magnet in the compressor itself?
I'm getting to the point where it might just be a dealer $$$$$$$ fix if it acts up again with the new relay. There might be clutch and coil magnet kits I can get, not 100% certain, is that worth it? I've read these compressors are sketchy and so are the relays and at some point just spending a lot to fix it for another 100k I'm fine with. Am I there yet if the relay wasn't the fix? I'm annoyed with it but can't stop myself trying to troubleshoot it on my own
