ST Filters

Was wandering around WalMart this afternoon and came across an ST filter in a light blue box-the filter cannister was also light blue instead of black. Any idea how old this piece is? And yes, it looks like they are clearing out ST filters-there was only about a dozen left

Those are the new ones. The old ones were black in a black/green box.

The production date is stamped on the dome end of the filter.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the new ones and the old ones?

They look identical. Just a new box and color to match I assume.

maybe like purolator is doing to the pure ones, changing things up a bit.

I'm curious enough to go back to WMT and check the production date-the box looked 10 years old

Yes the new blue/red boxes look older than the old black/green boxes but I think that has something to do with Champion not making the Bosch filters anymore which were also black cans and boxes.

There is nothing new about the filters inside the new colored boxes. Its probably a marketing pitch.

I miss the old box. The new one has goofy numbers on it.

the only part of the date code on the bottom of the filter I could read started with 07XXXXXXX. Guess that means it was made in 2007?

A ST3600 filter I have reads 070207EN3 06:07 The first 6 digits refer to the date, the last 4 the time. I believe the 3 in the EN3 refers to the production line.
