Hey, I was wondering if there is an oversized replacemnt filter (same threads + bypass specs) for the following filters ( M1-110, SDF20, HP-1010 PH7317 PL14610 ST7317) they are all the stock speced ones for a 01 SOHC honda 4cyl.
You say the 4620 and 7317 are stock for a 01 Honda Accord 4 cyl. Are you sure. The catalogs around here list Fram 3593 and Purolator 4459.
I have a few 7317's left over from a Dodge Colt and would use them in my 01 Accord if I was sure they fit. I know the threads match but I wonder about ADBV, leakage etc... Anybody know? Thanks.

Not knowing the bypass specs of the filters that you mention ...I dunno.
Look here and cross reference the numbers. to Baldwin. The biggest one they list is 3 7/16 long with a 14 psi bypass valve. You can manipulate this around to basically figure out any available filter from just about everyone. If you hunt around you can pull up all the compatable filters ..but only spec out the Baldwins.
To Bill Kapuan: All those diameter numbers etc.. are impressive but I was never very good at algebra (I'm not being sarcastic) Does this mean that a PH7317 can be used in place of a 3593 in a 2001 Accord 4 cyl. Thank You.

Of course a smaller filter will fit in the space of a larger one.
Personally, I'd leave an old "quality" filter on during an oil change instead of using a new FRAM. In fact I've done it!
Someone told be the filter for a Honda S2000 works well, but I have not confirmed this.
Part # would be L14459 from purolator, which has a 12-15psi valve
Thread Pitch: 6H
Relief Valve P.S.I.: 12-15
Type of Filter: Spin-on
Threads: M20-1.5
Height: 3.94
Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes
O.D.: 3.15
The Purolator 24458 has the same theads and gasket as the 14610, bypass is 12-15, which is so close it's a wonder they make 2 bypass valves so similar. The 24458 has the largest filtration area of any commonly available filter with these threads.
You can buy the Japanese made Honda filters (Part # 15400-PCX-004 for the S2000) from www.manchesterhonda.com at $55.00 for 10 filters. I use them for my 2003 Accord and my 2002 CRV-EX.
