Depends on what you're doing. If you mostly play games, an SSD will only improve initial load times, and often not by that much: many games spend a lot of time doing other things at startup while the files are loading in the background, so even a RAM disk can't improve that.

If you're just web-browsing and other simple tasks, yes, it will be a big improvement, because it will boot faster and start programs much faster. But even booting from an SSD isn't that much faster with Windows 10, because it does a fake shutdown unless you force it to do a real one.

Mostly web browsing & watching videos .

SSD tip: do not set automatical defragmentation, if you'll perform it often - it's may reduce the lifetime of the disk, since they have limited time of read-write cycles
When I updated my PC with SSD, I've noticed the speed boost drastically!

Make sure you do a OS clean install.

I could not agree more! After you replace the HDD with a SSD, you will likely come to the conclusion that you don't need to upgrade the CPU.

The OS clean install works wonders, too! Don't skip doing that!

Good luck!

SSD is great. Kept this old Gateway running fine.

Make sure you run uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger on your browser to keep all that stuff that tries to load away ...
