Spring Cleaning

I spent a couple hours cleaning the Buick today from the past winter...I detailed it in and out started off with an outside wash with Turtle Wax wash and wax soap...then vaccumed and cleaned off the floor mats inside detailed the plastic inside with armor all and cleaned the windows with spray way glass cleaner...then I gave it a nice coat of rain x on the windshield shined up the tires with armor all tiree shine and finally waxed it with Eagle one gel wax....of course I took some pics for you guys I dont know how I feel about the eagle one gel wax it shines it up but does not seem like it leaves a nice protecting layer like the other waxes ive used but it sure looks sharp. not bad for a 98

Where's all the rust? Every car of that vintage in the Northeast is a rust bucket if it hasn't been scrapped for a rotten frame. They get a little salt-happy on the roads around here.

I like Eagle 1 Gel Wax. Excellent shine and easy to apply.

The car looks washed and shiny, very nice. Far from a full detail but nice for a minor clean up. Nice job.

Are those the original rockers?...as Bandito said, all of the Centurys of that vintage (97-05) around here have varying degrees of rust on the rockers...a lot of them are completely rusted away. A lady in the neighborhood has a 2000 model and it's still rust free but the car spent it's life in Florida...only been exposed to the local salt for 2 winters (burgundy paint is badly oxidized from the sun though). That car looks great!

I agree, seems hard to believe it isn't rusted out. Must have been a southern car.

Looks great! What's your secret for keeping the rockers intact? I see a lot of Centuries around with rotted-out rockers, so seeing one with intact rockers is rare!

Im going to assume next to zero miles for the year really helps that!

Like seriously, 78K miles.. My 2011 car has almost 60K miles.

Ya you guessed it it was an old lady car mostly garaged I bought it with 67k miles just a few months back and as far as rust the only rust it had was the lines were badly rusted out so I replaced the brake and fuel lines and now the rest of the car is virtually rust free...I think it was a steal for 3900
