Our kitchen refurbishment is nearly done. We picked an awesome granite slab set, and the locations we chose to cut look great. Our two tone cork floor is positively awesome. Fire clay apron sink is a very classic looking item, etc.
But one of the more practical items, the cast iron radiator, needs to be attended to. We moved its location, and got a different one that works better for the spot were moving it to. We took it to a processing company, and they sandblasted it and finished it in flat aluminum two part epoxy (essentially, to get best prices, you pick the colors they have on hand at the time, and we weren't interested in Ben Franklin Bridge blue). It looks absolutely perfect, but they had no extra paint for us to take home. We will be installing Black pipe up through the floor for the hydronic system, and I'd like it to be painted the same color as the radiator for consistency, and it's how the others in the house are done.
Flat aluminum, no biggie, right? Well for the life of me, I can't get the right color. I've tried multiple flat and satin metallic paints, some greys, etc. nothing. They are either way too bright, or too grey and dark. The cap colors are very misleading too...
So, is there a way to consistently darken up spray paint? I've tried multi coating a few times without luck.
I know for certain that the paint is Sherwin Williams flat aluminum two part epoxy...
Thanks!
