Spec oil for 1992 Honda Accord?

I believe SG was the oil spec'd in 92'. Any SJ,SL or current SM oil will do fine. I believe that my brothers 91' Accord called for 5/30 in cold weather and 10/30 or 10/40 in warm weather. If I were you I would use one of the high mileage oils in the weights I listed above. Honda Accords from that era were very durable and you could easily get another 100k out of her.

I have a 93 accord with 235k, and still running very strong. I have been using 10w30 dino as it helps keep the consumption down compared to 5w30. I may go to the 5W30 for the winter. On my next change, I will go with a high mileage oil to see it that helps. Currently, I have to add about 1 qt every 3000 miles.

I just received my order of AutoRX. It has never been treated before, and have heard very good things about it.

I don't have any leaks yet, and the engine doesn't consume much oil.... the Auto RX has a seal sweller? I worry about starting leaks that weren't there before.

I might give the Valvoline Maxlife a shot and see hwo it does.

Thanks

I think they like to use the word "rejuvenate".

The manual for my wife's 92' Accord recommended SG and to use 5W-30 or 10W-30. For temperatures less than 20 F the manual says to use 5W-30

I am at work right now and I drove the Corolla today but we have a '93 accord and I'm sure the recommended oil is written right on the oil filler cap of the accord. I use 5w-30 dino year-round here in S.W Ontario and the accord doesn't use any oil between changes (4000 mi OCI) after 150k. I put in 4 litres and pretty well drain 4 litres.
God Bless New Orleans !!
