If all that's asked for is 80W, I'd say 80W90 or 75W90 would be OK, what is the exact application you're asking for?
Yes, you can use 75w90 with no problem 
I think it depends on the vehicle and what it is going into. If it is a differential, 75w90 would be fine. If it is going in anything else, I would get the original stuff.
Mitsubishi Outlander 2019 ... asking for 80W in transfer case and rear diff
The manual I found says SAE80 not 80W, and it's supposed to be GL5, since it only takes like a quart in total to fill both the transfer case and the diff, I'd just get the recommended mitsubishi fluid.
For the diff, I wouldn't think it matters much, but for the transfer case I would get the OEM stuff.
May I ask you what is the difference between a GL-5 SAE 80 and a GL-5 80W ....
