I read somewhere about Chinese culture, and their view of 'copyright'. they don't have that concept in their culture. I'm sure NOW they know that they are breaking the law, but they don't see anything wrong w/ that. it's just like counterfeit DVDs they sell on the street, it's just something they do.
it's kind of like the problem the European invaders had w/ the new world Aborigines; the locals would make a deal w/ the euros, sell them some land, but they hadn't a clue about the euro concept of 'property' and 'fences'. of course we know how well THAT went.
btw, I do love that jackshaft kit you make. I never liked the idea of 2 chains on the bike. I'm thinking I'll need to get one of those from you eventually...

Seems pretty tame actually.....Compared to them destroying their atmosphere, polluting their oceanfront with sewage/algae, and anything else they have not managed to kill/destroy (humans included). ........they have released the "lead bomb" to finish everything else off.

Seems the only thing they don't copy are disaster avoidance techniques.

Tame until it threatens your business!

They are kinda quirky that's for sure. Injection molding machines and bike engine stuff. They really want to work with us now. Anything that gets the bucks flowing in the fastest!!

I thought you would sense my sarcasm Pabs. But in many ways it is the truth. :)

Are you sure this is not the same item but re-badged in the US? This happens a lot to stuff that is outsourced to China or just re-brand to the US.

Chinese R&D: Rip-off and Duplicate.

Professional Products (Automotive stuff) does the same thing.

Ripped off Edelbrock and BBK products, then sells their cheap imitations at half the price!!!

China's rip-offs have hit very close to home here. Some years back I did a lot of work for Mascotech with the development of powder metal connecting rods. The person whom I wrote the reports to was recently indicted, charged, and sentenced to jail along with two others for selling this particular technology to the Chinese. What they did caused considerable damage to our industry base in SE Michigan.

Our auto industry can't compete with offshore industry in labor costs, but at least we can compete with our innovation, which should be strictly guarded and protected.

Now Pablo,(Jim Rodgers of CNBC/FNN) ..no one wins in a trade war. Just let it go and everything will work out. If you start tampering with this stuff it's just going to hurt us too ("us" meaning someone other than you).

Nah ..just keep pulling essential rabbits out of a hat. Unfortunately, most of life needs nothing higher tech to work. Most advances offer enhanced benefits that you don't need unless you reinvent the globe.

Just keep weapons development well funded.

I remember a post on another site a while back that had the Google "gather everything" model held up as TBOR.

Now you have the ease of writing documents on Google, creating spreadsheets on Google, 3D imaging on Google ( http://sketchup.google.com/ ) and never needing a "works" package again.

Who needs spies, when we volunteer up our plans ?
