Yea, I ordered a Set of Motorcraft Wires from RockAuto.com ...... $37.00 total.
This was my first RockAuto purchase. I was very pleased.
Put them on today and Truck runs fine.

Ford Dealership wanted $72.00 for the Wires ...... Yikes !

I was just surprised that the Wires I bought at Auto Zone only lasted 37,000 miles.
Original Motorcraft Wires lasted 100,000 miles.
I'm not bashing Auto Zone, sometimes you get a Lemon.

I'm guessing you don't know how electricity works.

The idea is to be able to locate the problem to know that is indeed is coming from the wires, and not some other issue.

Why diagnose when you can just fire a random parts cannon at it?

As for the difference in longevity, no big surprise. In most cases real OEM just has an additional bit of QA/QC. They don't want any hassles in warranty, whereas aftermarket has only to last 12 months. Sometimes aftermarket is better, but you pay for that too.

The OEM wires are made by Belden, so really in this case, the best aftermarket wires for the car are Belden, but they are still not as good as Motorcraft.

I am not surprised that cheap wires from Auto Zone only lasted 37K miles. Last set of Motorcraft wires I installed I got off eBay, which was cheaper then Rock Auto (although probably took longer to get).
