Can you fish that out with a magnet or something? Could be sitting right on top of the piston. Or has the engine turned over since the plug was damaged?
Some of the gurus on the TDI forum actually use cameras in cases like this. Hope it works out for you.
It was ran for quite some time before the engine just died.
I blew compressed air in the spark plug hole, and some coiled wire looking things came out. And while looking in there with a flash light, and blowing air, I couldn't see anything moving around. So I believe everything is out. Whether or not it took out a valve seat, or bent a vavle is yet to be determined.
The thread repair seemed to go very well. I'm just waiting on the coil to see if the thing runs okay.
