That's like one of the unwritten laws of the Model Railroading forums: "How can you tell which forum members work for a real railroad? It's easy - they mention it in every post!"

That comes to 207 responses; possibly a tad high.
No participants in the "Anti-Seize / No-Anti-Seize" debate?
"Correct torque" wasn't mentioned.
12 to ask if the plugs are genuine vs fake?
34 to discuss the merits of AC vs Champion vs Bosch vs NKG vs Autolite.
5 to ask if you verified the gap before installing.

Jonnied1, thanks for posting. I definitely got a few chuckles out of your perspective.

Oops! NGK, not NKG. I always have to stop and think which it is. And still get it wrong.

Also, to call the manufacturer to verify that the plug you have is not a counterfeit before putting it in. What the proper range of torque is, minimum and maximum. Ensuring that the part number is correct for the engine that you're putting it in. And checking the gap. The use of Dielectric grease to keep moisture out. And be sure to thread it in quite a bit before applying any tool that can apply torque to it in case it starts to cross threading when you initially put it in. And also to hand thread the coil hold down bolt quite a bit before using a tool on it because they're very easy to cross thread. Then we can get into what anti-seize compounds that should be used if any, and how they can affect the proper torque. Don't forget a thread about looking at the used plugs to see if there's any problems going on, and remember to label what cylinder each came from.

I'm on another forum where there is a guy who will chime in and warn against gimmicky multi-tip or E3 plugs, etc, and then use that as a springboard to rail against brake upgrades and LED lighting. Reading his posts is like playing Bingo. First one who reads five of his rants in one day wins!
