Southern Winter SAAB Fill

Hmmm, I'll be up for an oil change next week or so. What should I pour out of my stash? The past few fills have been a mix of Mobil 1 5W30 SM and 15W50 SL (red cap stuff). But I also have PZP 5W30, Rotella T Synthetic 5w40, Maxlife Synthetic 10W30, and not to mention a vast supply of the old 10W30 Penz. Synthetic (w/ Pennzane

). I've been going 5k miles or so.

Winter number fairly inconsequential in LA or NC for that matter. Pick one with a good detergent add pack. A HDEO if you have some to fill it or at least put some in the brew.

. That will help rinse out the PO sludgies in that SAAB.

Those pics were taken after emptying my last rinse cycle back in April, I believe. Since then I've probably put on about 25-30k miles.

I'd go half and half. Half AutoRX and half of the thinnest stuff in your stash. Your engine needs to be in a perpetual AutoRX cycle of some kind.

Lol, I just might! The thing I worry about is pump pressure, though. The oil pumps on these cars are known to be a touch fragile and I'm scared of thin, thin oil.

Truthfully, I'm wondering if the junk in those pics is even worth bothering with. Since everywhere there is oil flow, I seem okay. 30 weights are my thinnest oil with the exception of 1 bottle of redline 5W20.
