SOPUS HM?

I never hear anything about the sopus high mileage oils, pennzoil high mileage vehicle, and quaker state higher mileage engine. Is castrol and valvoline that much better when it comes to high mileage engines? Or does anyone have any experience with either.

The pennzoil I think ought to be a good oil, dont know about the quaker state with the slick 50 in it however.

And is it just me or does quaker state have too many oil lines? I was looking at their website and they have a winter oil??

Quaker State's marketing is a real turn off to me. All of these supposed special purpose oils is market segmentation gone wild.

Chevron, IMO, has one of the more straightforward line ups of motor oils. Valvoline is also relatively clean that way. Sopus' brand images is brought down by the Slick-50 nonsense, Quaker State oil-by-phase-of-moon and their ownership of Jiffy Lube.

Valvoline has a lot of track record with their high mileage oils (Maxlife) and in many ways everyone else has played catchup. Pennzoil and Quaker State seem to be me-too entries without much interest.

Pennzoil High Mileage is as good as any. As a matter of fact that is what is in my wifes explorer. Quaker State High Mileage I will not buy but will use for free. This is due to it having slick-50 added.

I had a 95 Monte Carlo LS with about 170,000 miles that loved Pennzoil High Mileage. It's the only thing I used in that car that quieted the horrific noise that the 3.1 motor made in the morning.

I never see the QS winter oil for sale, I wish I could find some... i'd love to use some in my car

I wouldn't have a problem using quaker HM, easier to find than Pennzoil High Mileage and the amount of slick 50 has got to be minimal. Just marketing.

The Slick 50 used now is not the same garbage as pre-SOPUS ownership. Where's Johnny on this?
