Sony & Honda to Join Forces to Make EVs

Sony (SNE) and Honda (HMC) announced Friday that they plan to start a joint venture to make and sell electric vehicles. The company will be established later this year, and deliveries will begin by 2025.

There were rumors of Honda & GM teaming up on e-cars but I haven't heard much more about that venture taking place. Sony seems to be a more likely candidate for this venture as both are HQ'd in Japan and both being at/near the top of their professions.

With the exception that Honda still can't get the **** auto paint right... can't begin to count how many Hondas I've seen over the years with peeling clear/paint far too early into ownership. You'd think within a few decades they could figure that **** out by now!

They are big in semiconductors, robotics, finance and a few other areas.

I'm not sure about finance, their "robots" were just sort of a toy, semiconductor seems to be a sensor thing mostly (MEMS, camera, etc). I guess you can say they bring that to the table...

Most people dont realize the "Beta" format had a supremely successful life in the Television business.
