My vintage Kawasaki, even though it sits in my garage and is never ridden in rain, does require regular polishing of chrome and aluminum to prevent oxidation.

I use these two products with great success.
- Schultz Laboratories Metal Polish. It’s good for polished aluminum as it contains oils to slow down the oxidation. Doesn’t have a lot of cutting power though.
- Autosol Metal Polish. I don’t think it needs explanations

beautiful bike looks like it is in current production 😍

A survivor for sure. Looks very nice. I bought a KZ650 same red color brand new around 1978... good bikes. I do remember cleaning it a lot with furniture polish back in the day. Have some good memories on that bike.

Looks amazing! Brings back memories of my 1984 Harley Ironhead Sportster XLH (1000cc) - polishing the aluminum was a chore!!! But it looked like chrome when done!

What a ride! I'm sitting at work and watching vintage bikes ride past in route to the Barbers Motorsports Park and Museum Vintage Motorcycle Weekend! Your bike sir would surely fetch a BLUE RIBBON! Gorgeous and well kept. Hats off to you!

Beautiful bike.

Id probably have to ride it though..
Thanks!
It's ridden on regular basis, just not that much and not as an "everyday" bike.
I would probably ride it more, but I need to pull the carbs off and change the rubber seals on the choke plungers. They've become hard and make the bike run rich and the throttle is choppy at higher RPMs. I have other priorities at the moment though, so this has to wait.

Beautiful bike! This is my 78 650SR my mom bought new and handed over to me in around 1992, still pretty low miles at just over 16,000. I would be happy to let you borrow it over the winter for the same treatment!
