A tap house called Loyal Legion has a few around the Portland area, including one inside the new PDX terminal. So the name came from a sign the owner found behind a basement wall of an old Chinese restaurant that opened in Portland’s Chinatown in 1928. They say the Loyal Legion was created in 1917. The Chinese restaurant Hung Far Low closed its doors years ago, I read the family still owns the building. They removed the Hung Far Low sign and repaired it, and then put it back up.
