I'm seeing a lot of sodium in recent Valvoline used oil analysis and VOAs, from Synpower to MaxLife to Durablend.

It was not always so. I wonder what changed.

Sodium is cheaper than other items like boron. So more profit which why they exist. However they contradict somewhat when they come up with a 7% noack in the 5-30 flavor making it possible they have a really great and costly base oil. This is in the Syn not in any other they offer. Kinda weird as getting the pdf at times. Guess you gotta try it and see for yourself.. Which is why they exist too..
