So when do you start autoRX and seafoam?

I have two new vehicles, a ford focus ZTS with 25K miles and a toyota tacoma V6 with 18K. I was wondering what mileage/age of a vehicle do you run these in? I dont think either need a full dose of autoRx so i was thinking of just doing 3oz per vehicle for a couple of oil changes and do the seafoam every 25K on both.

I do not belive the 3oz maintence dossage is effective until you have thorghly cleaned the engine with a full treatment.

Frank the inventor of Auto-Rx has mentioned that deposits that can affect performance have built up enough within the first 36,000 miles to need cleaning.

Auto-Rx is a great product that works wounderfuly.

Why would want to use Sea Foam in it. Sea Foam is mostly Stoddard solvent and IPA. It is really over priced for what you get. If you want a strong solvent type product try B-12 chemtool. Their are a lot of good products to choose from. Nuetra 131 can be used in your oil and your fuel!! Lube Control is good for keeping engine clean and extending your oil change interval by depolerizing sludge percusors. It also act as an anti-oxidant.

Probably the best buys for additives that actualy work are Lube Control,Fuel Power and Nutrea 131!!!

You do NOT need a full dose at 18k and 25k unless you're still running on the original oil. Now would probably be a good time to start using a maintainence dose or something like Lube Control.

Of course the guy selling it is going to tell you that....

so how do you do a maintenance dose? How much and how often? I am using amsoil for 6-8K mile oil changes twice a year.

You're being nicer to your engine than 99% of other people. You don't need to do anything more, but if you want to use Auto RX I'm sure there's instructions for a maintainence dose on their website. IIRC, you're not supposed to use it with synthetic oil.

just paranoid I guess, with the Toyota V6 3.0 liters sludging. I know its not a reported problem with the 3.4 liter but an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I did a full dose of ARX on my Solara 3.0 engine at 25k and have been running the maintenance dose ever since. I did it early to establish a cleaning baseline which should be maintained with a 3 oz. maint. dose. It doesn't make sense to run a maintenance dose alone without doing a full clean first.
