I had a wonderful Christmas day. While I'm "down on funds" right now in anticipation of job loss, it was a great day.

Spent it with family and friends. No drama, no stress, just good company! I can't think of anything better.

Ate way too much at the in-laws. Late breakfast around 11:30. Double helpings of everything except the ham, a triple helping there. My only meal of the day.

Took my daughter for a leisurely Christmas Day drive.
Took a short nap.

Tidied-up the house and had my side; brother & sister and their crews over for desert in the evening. A good day.

Well it turned out great. I got to see my 10 day old great niece, and we got a call again from my son who is currently deployed in Guam. He should be calling one more time before they shove off again. All in all it was a good Christmas.

Got up early (can't seem to help that), worked out and got cleaned up, had a solid breakfast. Miss Linda and I exchanged gifts (I got socks and a new shirt, she got a gold alligator pendant and a cat calendar). And after a nap, I went over to her place for dinner.

Didn't do a car-related thing all day. Felt weird . . .

Im 67, she is 58, I got a card, she got a card. Went to family of 23 get together, I got a pocket knife, she got a bag of coffee doing that Nasty Santa swap a gift thing drawing numbers, was fun though.

The rest of our gifts we bought went to the 6 grandkids,,,that was our Christmas.........I have all I need..amen.

My poor car is going to have congestive heart failure / high blood pressure. Note - that is salt, there is literally, a half inch on the back of the car!!!

Had a good day. Kept it to myself, my parents and two uncles. Not much gift giving, but my parents like to give gifts so they did buy something for everyone, but it was stuff everyone needed.

I enjoy christmas much more now that we decided to not give gifts and just keep it strictly a family gathering.

Having read your other recent post, I'm not surprised you despise Christmas. I'm not sure of your reasons, but I have no use for holidays in general, in part because I've been working in construction for many years, and holidays are usually the time when we make less money, and Christmas in particular is a time when we make less and spend more. In the past, I've often dreaded spending time with certain in-laws.

This year was pleasant. While I still don't buy into the hype of Christmas, this year we had Christmas at our house with three of our children, my Dad, my mother-in-law, and my son-in-law. The MIL and SIL are generally tolerable, and the kids are all grown up, and it was pretty low-key. We exchanged gifts, which have been getting less outrageous every year, and had some nice food (for once I didn't pig out), and conversation. My wife got me a Norelco shaver, which I will definitely use, since I've been using my youngest son's and liking it. All-in-all, a very nice day.

Had a great dinner at my daughter's The in-laws were there too. We get along fine, and had a good time. The Grandchild, our first, is very fortunate to have all 4 grandparents in frequent attendance He is only 15 months old,and is very inquisitive about his world and how things work. Watching him grow is the greatest gift ever! I see so many people in strife with their families, I've made my peace with mine and am much happier as a result.

Wow, you guys have NO snow down there!!!

Had a supper fantastic two days! Christmas Eve Day, all my children and grandchildren came to our house and we opened gifts and ate a very nice meal prepared by my wife. Went to Church that night and worshipped in a beautiful candle light service. Christmas morning, went to Church again and had a cool service singing all the old Christmas songs then went to see my Mom and Dad.

DAD IS BACK HOME!!!! After two months in hospital and rehab Dad is back in his house, (came home Christmas Eve!) We spent the afternoon with them visiting and eating and I did spend some time splitting firewood and chopping some weeds around my parents property with my homemade hoe, (I have a hard time sitting still for very long).

All in all, a wonderful two days with family and friends!

Some folks who worked over the holidays,,,,fireman, police, docters, nurses, stretcher bearers,,U S Navy, U S Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard, U S Army, Submariners, electrical companies, coal fired plants, dams, hydro folks, early warning threat detection folks, Long shoreman, security folks, subway folks, just to name a few.................

Blah. Came down with the flu. And I did get the flu shot this year. At least it was only 24 hours of sleeping, and now another 24 of resting. Maybe I will be well enough to drive home tomorrow.

Cost me my annual trip to visit my parents.

Kids had fun, and I've been able to rest, so it's still all good.

I bought my own presents not long before (6 quarts of PU and oil filters and new DeWalt batteries) but on X-Mas I went out and saw a movie I was dying to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I was disappointed by it

Other than that it was nice and quiet

Drove 1000 miles up into queensland, ate and drank for 3 days, had our 7 year anniversary, hung out with family, had the obligatory xmas debate to solve the worlds problems, and the obligatory barney, it wat [censored] hot up there on the way back for another 1000 miles. So good, yes.
