Run the engine long enough that the mix gets run through the Carb.

Worked like a charm. Toro 2cycle snowblower started on the third pull. Ran great. Thanks for the tip !

Bump.
First pull start with no hesitation.
Lot of good info on this thread and again I thank those that know for sharing.

I use Sta-Bil year round. Put it in your gas jug before you fill it at the gas station. Use it year round its cheap and I have never had fuel problems- EVER!

true. using ATF to fog an engine works fine and atf will be disolved by the new fuel easily.

I dont stabilize my gas can. I will add a bit to the tanks of stuff I'm storing if I remember to. I dose my mowers and blowers with MMO during their seasons and run the carbs dry with the gas shut off after every use. This has cut down on having to tear down the carbs every spring or winter. Often, the first gas of the season will have some Berryman B 12 Chemtool added to clean out the carbs. I go through a few qts of MMO and a can or 2 of B12 a year. The results work for me. The engines start easier, and I spend my time mowing, not fixing stuff.

Change oil, fill gas tank w/Stabil-treated fuel, grease zerk fittings, clean it off and put it away.

In the spring, I have to check for mouse nests inside the engine cover--every few years I find that it's packed with dried grass and leaves!
