SN obsolete on May 1, 2021

So is my SM oil is still OK to use? I have a few bottles of it in my stash.

None of the vehicles I service require SP. All of them can use at least SM, with my motorcycle being SG, and truck is SJ.
I am fine with my SM, SN and SN+ oil stash.

I would not risk it if it is turbo after it becomes obsolete

I felt bad as my NAPA was selling Eneos 0w50 synthetic for $3 a quart last summer and I passed on it, for being API SM rated and pretty old. Bet it would have been kinda beastly oil.

Good riddance. SP is superior in every way to the SN licensed oil.

At the same time, there are a lot of cars still on the road with 300,000+ miles that ran on oil even older than SN for most of their lives.
