What kind of PCV valve did your rebuilt engine get?

Well, I bought one that looks like shiny aluminum. There were some that were plastic, but I usually stay away from plastic stuff.

Yesterday I took the hose off the PCV valve and it was totally clean inside. I don't know whether that means anything.

The problem with some aftermarket PCV valves is that the spring may be calibrated differently. That is why you can have PCV problems even if you have no engine sludge in the PCV valve, and you can hear the ball moving inside.

That is why I get OEM PCV valves whenever I can.
