Hey guys! It's been quite a while, but don't think I ever stop thinking about you

My dad and I are "restoring" a jet boat and I pulled the fuel pickups out of the tanks to find them all clogged up. I have a feeling there is quite a bit of sludgey [censored] down in those tanks and since we don't have the funds to purchase new tanks I was wondering if there was any additive that we could pour in there to disolve some of the [censored] in the tanks.

I firgured if there was that you would be the people to ask!

Well, any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated!!

Why not slap on 2 filters in a row and run the boat dry then pour in a 1/2 gallon and repeat? Then replace the filters. Wouldn't take more than an hour and you would be assured there is nothing bad in the tank.

Hey, thanks for the replies everyone!

Yeah, we are actually planning on slapping on a second, much larger, fuel seperating filter because we intend to cut the screens off the pickup tubes because they were all clogged up when I pulled them out.

I think the fuel in the tanks is pretty good, we filled them up with premium when we got the boat. As far as pulling them out, that would be a big job plus the radiator shop would charge one of those pretty pennies and we lost ours...

Now this is something I hadn't heard of, will seafoam actually disolve sludge in a tank? how much would you need and how long would you let it sit?
