I would not add anything to the oil. If you use a good oil, it won't need any additives.

If you want high Zinc 10W-40, use the Amsoil AMO 10W-40. Its JASO MA/MA2

Quote:
AMSOIL AMO and ARO have maintained their high zinc levels and the labels have been modified to include the benefits these products provide to customers experiencing excessive wear using low zinc containing oils.

5. Question:
Don’t other AMSOIL motor oils contain high ZDDP content? Answer: Yes, AMSOIL produces several crankcase lubricants with high ZDDP content for the automobile, light truck and diesel markets. The list includes AMO, ARO,AHR, ACD, TRO, HDD, PCO, and AME.

was using amsoil MCV(like the higher vis.) but getting a little pricy, thinking of picking a cheaper oil and changing it out more often..

Daman - I currently have a few ounces of slob in both of my ATV's - a 2001 Bombardier and 2004 Honda recon. I also have it in a 1998 chevy 350 - a 2001 Kohler command pro 20 - a Briggs Intek 7.5 - and a Briggs 6.5.

I really believe it has helped the shifting in the ATV's. It may be additives or being thicker. I don't care which.

I have 19 cans left and figured it would be good for all.
