I recently bought a 2013 Acura ILX and did not notice the steering wheel slightly to the right going straight. I did have ball joints replaced recently and wondering if work causes that and if I should have had an alignment done?

I presume an alignment adjusts it back?

Yeah, an alignment should fix that. Assuming the person doing it takes the time to do it right.

I have in the past adjusted each tie rod to make the steering wheel straight.

Yup the old way is still the best...May take a few times to get it right but it is not that hard to do...

If you want to DIY, it’s easy to turn each tie rod the same amount to center the wheel. It won’t affect toe in if done carefully.

if the steering wheel is to the right, move each tire to the right Through tie rod adjustment. start with 1/4 turn On both sides.
