Hey all, over the past few weeks I've noticed a slight miss in my 2004 F150, only at idle. It feels like a minor shaking, problem is there is no CEL. Coils have been done as well as spark plugs. What else would cause this? Its a 4.6L with 167K. Thanks!

Do you have access to an OBD-II live data scanner, so you can see what both banks of oxygen sensors are doing? You may be able to pinpoint an issue with one bank or another by looking at that data.

Plug wires?? Unless your truck has the COP coil on plug design I would give this a very real possibility. I changed the plugs, distributor, and rotor button on my old sentra. Still had a miss. So I changed the spark plug wires and presto ! Problem solved for me. And 2 yrs later it started doing this again.. Changed just the wires and fixed it again. So, this is a possibility if it doesn't have the COP design. I always believe in starting with the cheaper\easier fix first then escalate from their. Surprising how often it starts with this kind of stuff at times

Again.. It is the coil on plug design? Or is it set up with plug wires from the plugs to separate area where the coils are located. It can be either one. My lady's sunfire had the separate coil design. Other vehicles could too. You can change plugs and coils but if the wire isn't up to par that may well explain what's going on. My car and her car both didn't run right and had a miss due to wires.

when the plug that goes into the coil'clip breaks the rubber gasket inside the plug will push the plug out. cause a slight miss. if that clip in the plug is broke? then use a heavy duty nylon zip tie to wrap around the plug and coil. so, make sure all your plugs are snapped tight into the coil.
